MY STORY
Growing up I wanted to be an educator or an artist. While some may say I chose the more sustainable option, the artist in me never left. After 14 years as an educator, I was ready to step into a new role and began to wonder, could I make my artist dreams become a reality? Well, realistically speaking, no, not in the way I had dreamed of as a child at least. But, what I did discover was a world in which I could redefine what being an artist meant and a field in which I could apply all of my favorite parts education: understanding human behavior, solving problems and creating the best possible experience for those involved. Enter UX!
With over a decade of experience as an educator, I have gained a deep understanding of how humans learn and process information and how to respond to the needs of diverse individuals. The skills that I have garnered and worked to refine during my time as an educator are those that have built my foundation as a UX/UI Designer. As a designer (and a human), I believe in the power of strong communication, efficient systems, and delightful interactions (on and off screen)!
